USPSTF Recommendation Statement: Aspirin Use to Prevent Cardiovascular Disease and Colorectal Cancer (2016)

Description

The USPSTF makes recommendations about the effectiveness of specific preventive care services for patients without obvious related signs or symptoms.

It bases its recommendations on the evidence of both the benefits and harms of the service and an assessment of the balance. This recommendation applies to adults aged 40 years or older without known CVD (including history of MI or stroke) and without increased bleeding risk (for example, history of GI ulcers, recent bleeding, or use of medications that increase bleeding risk).

This evidence-based source serves as the foundation for the USPSTF Aspirin Therapy to Prevent CVD and Colorectal Cancer artifact.
