Workgroup Mission

The CDS Connect Work Groups are advisory groups established to identify and validate the design for capabilities and functionality of the CDS Repository, while informing and guiding the design, development and inclusion of CDS artifacts.

Workgroups will identify, prioritize and vet the software functionality that will be incrementally designed and deployed in the CAMH (The CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare) developed CDS Repository. They will provide feedback on the identification, generation and piloting of CDS artifacts developed by the CDS Connect project team.

The Role of the CDS Connect Workgroup

This workgroup will advise CAMH on the ongoing identification and prioritization of key features and capabilities for the CDS Repository software. CAMH will create legends, lead discussions, and consider feedback from workgroup subject matter experts.

Community Support

Nurture an active and supportive open source community that will be the heart of the CDS Connect project, focused on the success of the Repository software.

Discuss the various licensing considerations of the software and associated CDS artifacts hosted on the CDS Repository.

Provide Vision

Advise the development/refinement of the open source CDS Repository software requirements that will be documented for AHRQ.

Validate the vision and use of the CDS Repository based on experiences from the community of users.

Implementation Guidance

Convene discussions on the use of the CDS Connect information technology infrastructure and CDS data when used with EHR systems.

Discuss and identify entry points for Application Programmer Interfaces that will allow for further automation and integration of the CDS Repository and associated CDS artifacts.

The Role of the Cholesterol Management Workgroup

The CDS Connect Cholesterol Management Workgroup advised the CDS Connect project team from December 2016 – August 2017 during the development, specification and pilot implementation of cholesterol-related CDS artifacts which are currently hosted on the CDS Connect Repository.

Clinical Feedback

Review clinical components of the environmental scan conducted by CAMH.

Provide feedback on where CDS artifacts would fire in clinical workflow and the urgency of the notification.

Artifact Vision

Provide feedback on which recommendations to prioritize and how they might translate into CDS rules.

Provide feedback on artifact fidelity and inclusion, and provide suggestions for additional areas of inquiry.

Provide feedback on the presentation format of each CDS artifact and the end-user target that would engage with the artifact.

Implementation Guidance

Validate final catalog of clinical content to ensure that all the CAMH CDS artifacts provide consistent clinical across the domain of cholesterol management.

Review and validate CAMH's proposed pilot testing plans specific to cholesterol management.

Review the results of CAMH's pilot of new cholesterol management CDS artifacts.
