Artifact Detail Page
When you click the title of a specific artifact, you are presented with its Artifact Detail Page. For all artifacts, regardless of knowledge level, five information sections display:
- Overview
- Artifact Creation and Usage
- Implementation Details
- Repository Information
- Knowledge Level
Overview
The Overview section catalogs the most basic information about an artifact (artifact type, authored defined creation date, version, status, and experimental state) and provides a summary of the purpose of the artifact.
Artifact Creation and Usage
The Artifact Creation and Usage section describes ownership and legalities around use of the artifact. Author-selected keywords and MeSH topics help to further clarify intended use cases.
Implementation Details and Repository Information
The Implementation Details and Repository Information provides files and information of interest to project teams intending to pilot or implement the CDS artifact. This area also lists the knowledge level categorization of the artifact.
Knowledge Level
The knowledge level of an artifact refers to the knowledge representation framework developed by Boxwala et al. in their 2011 paper on disseminating clinical knowledge through clinical decision support. Each artifact can be characterized as one of the following:
- Narrative – Narrative text created by a guideline or CQM developer
- Semi-structured – Semi-structured text that describes the recommendations for implementation in clinical decision support
- Structured – Structured code that is interpretable by a computer (includes data elements, value sets, logic)
- Executable – Executable code that is interpretable by a clinical decision support system at a local level. This will vary for each site.
